"Amazing! - what your iPad was made for!" ✭✭✭✭✭ iPadReview

Author Peter Kuran's engrossing and powerful arrangement of these complex photographic techniques along with the astonishing photographs themselves creates an intriguing intersection at which the viewpoint of the casual observer becomes one of insightful witness.

Based on the book of the same name, the app features amazing, high resolution videos that can be played back and forth to see what is happening frame by frame during the detonation of an atomic bomb.

The Book Turned Up to 11!

I own the printed book and essentially this is it with videos for some of the weapons tests. My only complaint is I wish there were more vids of certain detonations (ie, the footage of Little Boy's detonation should've been added IMHO), however that's just nitpicking.

If you're a fan of this type of material, a WW2/history buff or just curious about the subject (from a technical standpoint), I think you'll like it.

Extremely Well Done!

This is a fascinating example of how to leverage the iPad's capabilities in a way that is concise and engaging. The book is excellent and informative in and of itself, however the additional high quality footage that is available, frame by frame if one wishes, is terrifyingly real and hauntingly beautiful. I challenge anyone to look at this and not take away something from it.

My 11 year old son was playing papi missiles and then I showed him this app about atomic bombs with video and photos, so he could get an idea about the real thing. He was so enthralled that he acquired a deep interest and passion. This book feeds inquisitive minds and never leaves a reader to stop without pondering. The book grabs readers of all ages.
